The weather disappointingly created a no-decision outcome last Friday night for the Thomas Edwards High football game against South Delta High from Rolling Fork.
However, the Tigers from Ruleville will once again attempt to record a victory after playing a game this Friday when Rosa Fort High of Tunica visits the Edwards High football field.
Owning a 1-2 record, with their lone official victory coming by way of a COVID induced forfeit by M.S. Palmer High, the Tigers will take on the 0-3 Lions in this upcoming non-regional clash.
This week’s 7 p.m. contest also represents the final non-regional date on the Tigers schedule prior to
a month-long string of District 3-3A contests commencing.
Those all-important dates will begin October 1 against Amanda Elzy High of Greenwood.
As for this week’s opponent, the Lions were unexpectantly idle last week after their game with Coahoma County High was canceled.
Other previous play this season has dealt the Rosa Fort squad losses to McEvans High of Shaw (36-8), Greenwood High (24-16), and a season-opening forfeit loss to Hernando High School.
In past action against Rosa Fort High, the Tigers own a 6-3 series advantage over the Lions.
However, in their last meeting which occurred in 2019, Rosa Fort claimed the victory with a 20-8 decision over the Tigers.
