A two-vehicle mishap on U.S. 49 on Friday has apparently resulted in at least one motorist being airlifted to the hospital.
The incident, involving a Ford Super Duty pickup and a four-door Chrysler sedan, took place shortly after 2:00 p.m., and both vehicles ended up in the ditch on the east side of the highway.
According to Indianola police, the Chrysler sedan was traveling south and turned in front of the northbound pickup, which is apparently what caused the accident.
At least one of the persons in the sedan had to airlifted out. IPD and other law enforcement agencies are still investigating and no other information is available at this time.
