On Saturday night, an argument between two brothers resulted in the older sibling reportedly shooting the younger one in the lower stomach area.
The incident happened on Williams Street at their residence around 6:45 p.m., and the 39-year-old victim had to be airlifted to a Jackson-area hospital.
According to Investigator Sergeant Irish Johnson, the 47-year-old brother is in the Sunflower County jail with charges pending.
Johnson said as of Monday morning, the victim had undergone surgery and was in and out of consciousness.
He is reportedly still questioning the suspect. The case is under investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
