At least one Moorhead resident should have something to be thankful for after a pre-Thanksgiving Day shooting resulted in a non-life-threatening injury.
Moorhead Police Chief Fred Randle said they have issued warrants for two persons involved in a Nov. 25 altercation where Dewayne Gray Jr., 23, was reportedly shot in the stomach.
Randle said Gray and a 17-year-old boy reportedly shot at each other after a confrontation; however, Gray turned himself in on Tuesday night after seeing his name and photo on the television news, but they are still looking for the 17-year-old who allegedly shot him.
Both are being charged with aggravated assault as the result of the shooting incident and he is hopeful that the other suspect will turn himself in also.
Randle said even though Gray is the injured party, he has so far refused to talk about the incident.
As of press time, the alleged assailant was not in custody, and Randle said despite his age he is being charged as an adult.
