Singer/song-writer Cordero Ross has his heart set on becoming a Mississippi icon, and with each passing day the Indianola native - affectionately known as Chord - is one note closer to accomplishing his goal.
“My plan is to continue to make beautiful melodies that intrigue the world and prove my greatness,” Ross said.
His latest effort has paid off in the form of a jingle for indemnity giant Allstate Insurance Company.
“On October 8, I bought the full rights to a pop style instrumental and began to write lyrics pertaining to having insurance (with) Allstate’s insurance company.”
Ross said he had previously considered following through on the notion, but became reinvigorated on the idea because of advice from his business partner and friend, Elijah Love. “I reached out to the main guy over the branch in Ridgeland and sent him previous work of creating songs for Double Quick, seafood restaurants and fictional and non-fictional books,” Ross said.
He said that representative sent his work to Allstate’s marketing department and “The rest is history.“ Ross asserted that it took him about three to four hours to come up with the perfect melody and lyrics for the jingle to stand out to its listeners.
He has been attentively honing his musical talent, constantly perfecting his craft to strike the right chords that will crescendo his career to the top.
“I’ve been creating four different genres of music for over 13 years now and writing jingles for seven years. I do this simply because I love music and everything about it,” Ross said.
Ross added that he is also expecting a promising payday once he has established his worth.
