The 2022 football season has come to an end for the Indianola Academy Colonels.
Suffering a 35-0 first round playoff loss to Tri-County Academy in Flora last Friday night, the Colonels ended their season with a 5-6 record.
Meanwhile, the defending 4A state champion TCA Rebels improved their record to a 10-1 mark as they move on to second round playoff action this week.
The Rebels will be traveling to Clarksdale this Friday to take on the Colts of Lee Academy.
In last week’s loss to Tri-County Academy, the Colonels faced a Rebels defense which would record its fifth shutout of the season.
Offensively, the Rebels methodically used their strong ground game to initially take a 14-0 lead after one quarter of play. By halftime TCA had moved on to a 28-0 advantage to secure the game.
Wearing their Indianola Academy uniforms for the final time last Friday night were seven seniors.
Among this group was Beck Beckham, C.J. Brown, Hayes Fleming, Jack Jenkins, Parker Lovett, Conner Roncali and Jaeho Seo.
