Louis Dale Tharp passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at his home in Ewin, Tennessee, at the age of 80.
Louis was born July 9, 1944, in Indianola to Oakley Tharp Sr. and Kathleen Hodges Tharp. He will be remembered for his jokes, brilliant wit, and for being a father and brother like no other.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oakley Tharp; his mother, Kathleen Tharp; a brother, Walter L. Tharp; and a sister, Martha “Patsy” Carlise.
Louis leaves behind his loving son, Mark Tharp (Amy); sister, Betty Nell Bell; two brothers, Oakley Tharp Jr. (Judy) and Danny Ray Tharp (Mary Frances).
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 3, from 10:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Burton Funeral Home of Indianola, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
