The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Zeta Zeta Chapter at Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) inducted new members during its spring 2026 ceremony held March 24 in the Yeates Fine Arts Auditorium on the Moorhead campus.
A total of 45 students were inducted during the ceremony, with 86 students eligible for membership this semester.
“Being inducted into Phi Theta Kappa is a testament to these students’ hard work, perseverance and commitment to excellence,” said Nicole Andrews, speech instructor and Zeta Zeta advisor. “I am incredibly proud of what they have accomplished and excited to see the impact they will make in the future.”
The ceremony began with a welcome from Vice President of Student Services DeAndre House, followed by remarks from MDCC President Dr. Steven Jones.
Kalann Haymon, head women’s residence hall director at MDCC, served as the guest speaker.
Following the address, Andrews joined chapter officers, including President Caleb Johnson; Vice President of Leadership Sophie O’Neal; Vice President of Membership Raylon Perkins; Vice President of Service Charles Bowen; Vice President of Public Relations Morgan Woods; Secretary Ella McCain; and Treasurer Allie Johnson, in formally inducting the new members.
Vice President of Instruction and Accreditation/Provost Dr. Valarie Morgan delivered closing remarks.
To be eligible for membership in the PTK Zeta Zeta Chapter, students must meet the following criteria:
• Be a full-time student enrolled in an approved program of study and have completed at least one semester with a minimum of 15 academic or technical credit hours
• Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, based on 15 semester hours for freshmen or 30 semester hours for sophomores
• Transfer students must complete at least 15 semester hours at MDCC before being considered for membership
• Demonstrate strong scholarship, leadership and character.
