Milton Earl Jefcoat, 83, of Shaw, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland.
Milton was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Linn, to Milton Wooley Jefcoat and Ruth Boyd Jefcoat. He was the co-owner of the family partnership, Topanga Farms, for many years prior to his retirement. Milton loved farming and loved being in the outdoors hunting deer, turkey and ducks. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Milton was a faithful member of the Indianola First Methodist Church. He was instrumental in getting North Mississippi Chrysalis started in Indianola. He loved his early morning Monday men’s Emmaus group and was a strong prayer warrior. “As we laugh and talk, may God be glorified.”
Milton was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tommy Wayne Jefcoat.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Suzanne Reed Jefcoat of Shaw; five children, Gigi (Matt) McMurray, Jere (Paul) Myers, Jodi (Todd) Ervin, Justin (Amanda) Jefcoat, and Tombo (Elizabeth) Jefcoat; brother, Judge (Midge) Jefcoat; two sisters, Carolyn (Johnny) Martin and Linda Powers; 12 grandchildren, Matthew (Meg) McMurray, Josh McMurray, Sam McMurray, Joy Morgan (Reynolds) Spencer, Brown Myers, Brewer Myers, Anna Todd Ervin, Dan Ervin, John Ervin, Ann Lamar Jefcoat, Reagan Coleman and Grant Coleman; and two great-grandchildren, Truitt McMurray and Charlie McMurray.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Newman Hall, First Methodist Church. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Michael Lindsey and the Rev. Jim Woods officiated. Burial followed in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was entrusted with arrangements.
