A group of Mississippi Delta Community College athletes spent some time in front of the judge recently. On Monday, September 14 at the coliseum on the campus of MDCC, a selection of local law enforcement chiefs and Judge Kuykendall Horne-Murry, municipal court judge for the towns of Sunflower and Inverness and the cities of Ruleville, Moorhead and Indianola, spoke with members of the MDCC football team.
Horne-Murry and the chiefs challenged the players to be the best version of themselves that they could be — not only on the field, but also in the classroom, the community and with their families and friends.
The football players were reminded that their physical talent has provided them a platform to make a difference and that they should take that opportunity to further their education and pursue their dreams.
Also speaking to the players were Dr. Edward Rice II, MDCC Vice-President of Student Services, and Jeff Tatum, MDCC head football coach.
