March was Women’s History Month. To celebrate, the Uplift Our Local Community Committee of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated - Alpha Gamma Epsilon Omega Chapter honored women leaders and business owners in Sunflower County within the towns they serve.

Services for Nathaniel Dixon of Pace will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Spangle Banner M.B. Church, Pace. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Mr. Dixon, 67, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at his home.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland.

With the future of their baseball season on the line, the Indianola Academy Colonels will travel today to Winona Christian School for another North 4A Playoff game.
Playing game two of this series at 2 p.m., the 8-18 Colonels will attempt to immediately force game three with hopes of moving on to next week’s round two of the playoffs.
