SCCSD Moves Gentry's Homecoming to Afternoon, Parade to 10 A.M.

The Sunflower County Consolidated School District has moved its Friday night Gentry High School homecoming game to Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
The homecoming parage will take place at 10 a.m. instead of 4 p.m., and tailgating will be from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The grand opening of Dolce Cafe was celebrated Friday, July 11, 2025, with a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by community members, local officials, and the cafe’s staff.

A Freedom Trail marker for the late Dr. Clinton Battle will be unveiled on Church Street in Indianola on September 11.
The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at Mount Beulah M.B. Church on Church Street. A reception will follow at Club Ebony at 12:30.
