The 2017 Homecoming court for Coahoma Community College is set and two Gentry High graduates have been selected as part of the royal court. First-year college students Steve Hayes and Ja’Miyah Harris have been elected Mr. and Miss Freshman. And a third graduate, Willecia Hinton was elected Freshman Class President.

Man behind alleged senior trip scam charged with fraud

A Greenwood man who allegedly took $8,000 from Humphreys County High School seniors and left them stranded in a parking lot instead of on their class trip was arrested Tuesday by Greenwood police and charged with felony defrauding under false pretenses.

Sunflower Stitchers make donation to Sunflower County Humane Society

The Sunflower Stitchers made a sizable donation to the Sunflower County Humane Society this week. The group, which is run through the Sunflower County office of the Mississippi State Extension Service, chose the Humane Society as its charity and donated $900 of its proceeds from its stitchwork.
