The Nation's Weather for Saturday, February 12, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Frigid air moving into the Great Lakes will be accompanied
by lake-effect snow tomorrow. Farther east, rain showers
will transition to snow showers in the interior Northeast as
the colder air arrives. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected
to be well above normal along the coast of the Northeast and
mid-Atlantic. However, the much colder air farther west will
arrive overnight, and rain tomorrow night could mix with and
change to snow Sunday. The tail end of the same front
bringing colder air to the Great Lakes and Northeast could
cause a few rain showers to dampen eastern Texas, with even
some snow in eastern New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle.
Unseasonable warmth will continue to challenge record highs
in Southern California, and the fire threat will remain
elevated.
