The Nation's Weather for Saturday, January 20, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Lake-effect snow will continue to pile up through the day
tomorrow along mainly eastern shores of the Great Lakes as
cold winds flow over the warmer lake surfaces. The colder
air will also produce snow for the high ground from eastern
West Virginia into western Pennsylvania. Outside of that,
sections of the Northeast closer to the coast and a large
swath from the Southeast through the Midwest and across the
Plains will be dry under an expanse of rather strong high
pressure as the latest push of Arctic air advances to the
east. Dry conditions will also stretch into the High Plains
and much of the Four Corners region. However, the latest
storm arriving in the West will soak areas along much of the
West Coast, with snow for Northern California's highest
elevations.
