The Nation's Weather for Thursday, February 29, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Another intense storm will continue to push colder air,
coastal rain and areas of snow through more of the West
tomorrow, with the heaviest snow likely to fall over the
northern Sierra Nevada in California, where blizzard
conditions should develop during the day. Heavy, steady rain
is expected for coastal Northern California and southwestern
Oregon before a sharp cold front brings snow to more
locations, and high winds possibly approaching 60 mph also
will develop from northwestern Nevada into southeastern
Oregon. Snow follows the cold front into northern Idaho and
far western Montana as well. A storm exiting the East will
lead to lake-effect snow winding down off the eastern Great
Lakes, and a building storm brings increased coverage of
showers to Oklahoma and Texas.
