The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, October 8, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Showers and thunderstorms will continue across the central
and South Florida Peninsula tomorrow. Heavy downpours can
lead to localized flooding, especially in low-lying and poor
drainage areas. It will be uncomfortably humid with a steady
breeze in Florida. In Maine, there will be times of rain and
drizzle early. There can be a few showers downwind of the
Great Lakes; otherwise, the Northeast and Midwest will be
dry. Relentless heat will continue across the Southwest and
warmer air will expand into the northern Rockies and the
Plains. There can be a few spotty showers in the high
terrain of the Rockies; otherwise, much of the West will be
dry with abundant sunshine. In the Northwest, a storm moving
in will foster cooler weather and generate rain and drizzle.
It will be dry and less humid in the Carolinas.
