The Nation's Weather for Thursday, January 2, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Heavy lake-effect snow will continue east of the Great Lakes
tomorrow. Heavy snow showers can lead to local whiteout
conditions with rapid reductions in visibility. A storm will
continue to pull away from New England with a little light
snow lingering early. Otherwise, it will be noticeably
breezy across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic. A strip of
snow will coat the area from Iowa to Indiana during the day
before extending into the Ohio Valley overnight. There can
be a few snow showers early in the Rockies. Conditions
across much of the West will be mild. Meanwhile, another
push of rain will begin in Oregon, Northern California and
Washington. There can be a little bit of ice mixing with
snow in central Oregon. Dry weather is expected elsewhere,
except in South Texas where there can be a few showers.
