NATIONAL SUMMARY
An impactful winter storm will bring substantial snowfall to
Washington D.C. and Baltimore tomorrow. Heavy, wet snow can
cause major travel issues within that corridor, especially
for I-95; power outages are also possible. Icing mixed with
snow, sleet and rain can occur in central Virginia. Snow can
accumulate as far north as New York City. It is expected to
extend back into the Ohio River Valley, tapering across
Illinois and Tennessee throughout the day. The Appalachians
can have steadier snow and gusty winds. A gusty thunderstorm
and a few showers can occur in the Panhandle and Big Bend of
Florida into Georgia. Periods of rain are expected in the
Carolinas, tapering off in the western portions of the
states. Very cold temperatures from an arctic air mass will
make it down to Dallas with highs near 40.
