The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, January 15, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Lake-effect snow showers will continue downwind of Lake Erie
and Lake Ontario tomorrow. Any heavier snow shower can
quickly reduce visibility. A storm will begin to spread snow
to northern Michigan and Wisconsin late in the day and
overnight. A few showers will extend inland along the Texas
coast. The rest of the nation is expected to be dry. Across
Southern California, the fire danger will remain high even
as Santa Ana winds begin to taper during the afternoon.
Gusty winds combined with dry brush can allow fires to
spread rapidly and be difficult to contain. In the northern
Plains, high temperatures will be nearly 30 degrees
Fahrenheit higher than yesterday. Cold weather will linger
in the Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic with high temperatures
10-20 degrees below the historical average.
