The Nation's Weather for Friday, February 14, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A developing storm in the northern Plains can produce snow
tomorrow in northern South Dakota, much of North Dakota, and
Iowa before reaching Lake Superior and Michigan by the late
afternoon. There can also be some sleet and freezing rain
from eastern Nebraska and northeastern Kansas into southern
Iowa. A storm in the West can bring showers to California
and snow showers to much of the Intermountain West, with the
exception of some valley showers, perhaps mixing with some
snowflakes at times. Otherwise, there can be spotty showers
and thunderstorms along much of the Gulf coast. A heavy band
of lake-effect snow can affect Syracuse, New York and
portions of I-90 for much of the morning. Outside of that,
much of the nation is expected to be dry. The Plains can be
windy while the Northeast is breezy.
