On Thursday at 2:57 p.m., a 53-year-old Oak Street man said someone stole his identity in order to receive unemployment funds.
On June 26 at 12:44 p.m., a Mamie Road, Inverness woman driving a 1993 Ford truck and a Bryd Road woman driving a 2014 Nissan truck were involved in an accident near Wah Sings Chinese restaurant.
On Thursday at 4:08 p.m., officers were called to the 200 block of Faisonia Avenue near Minnie Cox Park after someone reported that several men were fighting. Reportedly four men were drinking together under the pavilion and an argument started between two of them that escalated into a physical fight. A 58-year-old Quiver Street, Ruleville man pulled out a box cutter and started swinging it at a 45-year-old Jefferson Davis Street man and the other two, a West Gresham Street man and a another man allegedly tried to stop the assault and both were cut in the process. The Jefferson Davis Street man reportedly got angry with police because he said they were allowing his assailant to kill him, started shouting profanity at the officers and was reportedly arrested after he refused to come down and quit. A box cutter was taken into evidence.
On Thursday at 4:43 p.m., officers were called to Hibbett Sports because of a disturbance inside of the store. A black Lorcin .380 handgun owned by a George Baird Road, Inverness woman was reportedly seized.
On Friday at 10 a.m., officers were called to the 1100 block of Rose Drive after a 79-year-old woman reported that a 67-year-old Rose Drive woman damaged a Ford F-150 and a Ford Taurus.
On Friday at 3:25 p.m., officers were called to the Quality Inn on U.S. Highway 82 because of damage done to a white Toyota Camry and a gray Honda Accord.
On Friday at 3:43 p.m. a West Harper Street man said someone in a black vehicle hit and damaged his 2019 Toyota Sienna XLE.
On Friday at 8:17 p.m. officers were called to the 300 block of Seymour Drive because of an incorrigible child.
On Friday at 9:35 p.m., a Kinlock Road resident said someone shot the glass out of her storm door.
On Saturday at 9:22 a.m., officers were called to the 200 block of Janet Davis Circle because of damage done to a 2018 Nissan Sentra.
On Saturday at 5 p.m., Officers were called to the 500 block of Oak Street after it was reported that someone broke into a home by breaking out a window. A pair of Air Max tennis shoes valued at $160 and a pair of Air Max tennis shoes valued at $170 were reported stolen.
On Saturday at 9:28 p.m., officers were called to Mill Street where a man was reportedly bitten by a pitbull.
On Sunday at 12:47 a.m. officers were called to the Sandy Drive area after someone reported shots fired. Officers recovered several .40-caliber shell casings.
On Sunday at 1:43 a.m., officers were called to the free park area on Church Street where a man was reportedly shot in the buttocks while sitting there.
On Monday at 6:39 a.m., a Westside Avenue man said someone damaged his 2015 Ford F-150.
On Monday at 1:27 p.m., officers were called to the 600 block of Garrard Avenue after someone reported that their identity has been stolen.
On Monday at 4:27 p.m., a Walmart employee said someone had stolen a variety of products.
On Monday at 5:33 p.m., a Sam Lacey Drive woman said her child's father, a Cox Street man, assaulted her by breaking the rear window out of her SUV and trying to run her off of the road.
On Tuesday at 12:55 a.m., officers were called to the South Sunflower County Hospital where a man told them he was riding in a car when someone fired shots into the vehicle and hit him.
On Tuesday at 1:42 p.m., the drivers of a beige 2004 Chevrolet Silverado and a black 2008 Chevrolet Impala were involved in an accident in the 300 block of Second Street near Depot Avenue.

On Thursday at 6:20 p.m., Mariah Angelica Shedd, 29, 68 George Baird Road was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace and felon in possession of a firearm.
On Monday at 5:47 p.m., Kolby Hunter Gordon, 28, 214 North Second Ave., Cleveland was booked in and is being held on a warrant from another agency charged with grand larceny.
On Tuesday at 10:50 a.m., Clyde Cordell Robinson, 34, 127 Fuggitt Circle was arrested and charged with domestic violence--simple assault.
On Tuesday at 11:33 a.m., D'Martayvous Edwards, 19, 124 Aquarius Circle was arrested and charged with burglary of a dwelling.
