Judge Kuykendall Murry received a handful of waivers during the June 4 session of the Indianola Municipal Court. A total of nine alleged offenders with charges ranging from auto burglary to murder appeared in court on Tuesday and waived their rights to a preliminary hearing.
W.T. Rounds 38, 400 Faison Ave., was charged with auto burglary in relation to an April 26 incident, but that was reduced to miscellaneous mischief.
He received a 90-day sentence with 60 days suspended, so he only has to serve 30 days.
Christopher Wilson 47, 635 Bellevue Drive and Erica Hodges 23, 622 Garrard Road, who were apparently working in partnership, were charged with armed robbery for using a tire plug to stab a man and rob him, received a $2,500 bond each.
Fredrick Rodgers 35, 106 Lunar Circle was issued a $5,000 bond for charges of felony possession of an illegal substance in a motor vehicle that stemmed from a May 7 arrest.
Also in court on Tuesday was James Wilson 45, 315 Audubon Place, Jackson.
He was charged with two counts of uttering forgery for allegedly passing bad checks at Planters Bank, on March 6, and received a $25,000 bond.
Rashaad Snipes 17, 200 Maybelle St., was handed a $100,000 bond for an aggravated assault charge. And brothers Samuel Barnes 22, 1004 Oak St., and Damian Buck 29, 1004 Oak St., who are charged with murder in connection with the April 24 shooting death of a 24-year-old Oak Street man were each issued a $200,000 bond.
Corey Ladell Edwards 32, 811 Hoover Street was slapped with a $100,000 bond for an alleged April 30 sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl.
He was arrested and charged with sexual battery on May 1.
