Three members of the Sunflower County Board of Supervisors, which constitutes a quorum, toured the law offices of Crosthwait, Terney & Noble on June 17 after the regular session ended to see if the space was adequate for additional county offices.
The building is currently for sale, and the county had discussed in the past the possibility of purchasing it for additional space.
President Glenn Donald said on Monday that he had already looked over the space, but he asked the other members of the board to review the property also.
According to Donald, no further discussion took place and no decision was made.
He said they were looking at the space because the county is in need of a building that would house its accounting department.
“Because it’s so crowded back there, limited space,” he said.
The county lawmakers will reconvene on July 8 at 8 a.m., to conduct budget hearings.
