The 12th annual Delta Cotton Belles Ladies Tennis Day is being held Saturday, October 5, with tennis being played at the Greenville Golf & Country Club and Cypress Hills Tennis Club beginning at 8 a.m.
The non-refundable entry fee is $60 per player and includes a delicious lunch and Wine & Cheese gathering in the afternoon to end their eventful day.
All proceeds benefit the mission of Delta Cotton Belles, working to serve the needs in our communities from providing breast health education to the provision of services and support programs for individuals diagnosed with breast cancer.
“The Ladies Tennis Day is in our 12th year and we are so honored to have the players, sponsors and volunteers continue to support this exceptional fundraiser,” said Carol Cashion Doolittle, Delta Cotton Belles President. “I invite the community to come out to the Country Club to see not only the fabulous tennis being played but all of the activities surrounding the day. The Survivors Luncheon is extremely moving and represents the importance of Delta Cotton Belles in the lives of many.”
There are many ancillary activities wrapped around Ladies Day for others that want to support Delta Cotton Belles without playing tennis. These include: Raffles, Tribute Bags, honoring and memorializing individuals with breast cancer, and the Survivors Luncheon.
“The Ladies Tennis Day would not be as successful as it is without the many volunteers that work weeks before and throughout the event, says Regina Russell, Delta Cotton Belles 2nd VP/Tennis Tournament Chairman. “I am so grateful with the response and energy of everyone involved. We encourage people to support Delta Cotton Belles by playing tennis but also purchasing raffle tickets and Tributes. Also, the survivors lunch tickets and wine and cheese gathering are available for $25.00. Come out and enjoy the day with lots of pink.”
The annual fundraiser supports the programs throughout the year to serve women and men in ten Delta Counties.
These include: Pink Promise, Wrapped in Pink, Pink Check Up and Thrivers Support Group.
Pink Program provides free mammograms to the working uninsured and underinsured; Wrapped in Pink focuses on providing services for individuals who have been diagnosed with breast cancer; Pink Check Up offers clinical breast exams performed by physicians and nurse practitioners free of charge; Thrivers Support Group meets to encourage all survivors to live each day to the fullest and share their journey with others.
