On Sunday, the men of Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church set aside time to honor one of their own.
During the annual Men's Day program, the group celebrated Bro. Richard Dorsey and presented him with a plaque to commemorate his dedicated service.
Deacon John Matthews presented Dorsey with the commemorative award and extolled on his faithfulness as a member who attends church services and Sunday school regularly and who is always ready to assist whenever and wherever needed. Matthews said if the church doors are open, then Dorsey is there.
Due to social distancing and other restraints and guidelines the church members could not convene as usual, but Dorsey was acknowledged during a service that was broadcast live on Facebook and was subsequently uploaded to YouTube.
Rev. David Stephenson delivered the special message for the morning guided by this year’s chosen theme. Dr. Melvin Matthews is pastor of the church.
