Delta Care Hope Foundation recently cut the ribbon on its newest service, the Empowering Day Center Adult Day Care.
Located at 408 U.S. 82 West, Indianola’s newest adult day care has opened under the umbrella of the larger nonprofit, Delta Care Hope Foundation, which offers services to both youth and adults in the community.
The foundation was established by Brenda and Albert Lynn, and it seeks to empower both youth and adults, as well as families by “providing holistic developmental programs leading to self sufficiency and self reliance through education, training, advocacy and overall supportive services.”
According to the nonprofit, Empowering Day Center provides care and companionship for persons over the age of 60 and functionally impaired adults over the age of 21.
The organization serves Sunflower, Humphreys, Washington and Leflore Counties, and hours are from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Empowering Day Center offers Social Activities such as Arts & Crafts, social bingo and other game activities, recreational activities and monthly field trips.
Services also include daily nutritious breakfast, lunch and snacks, with transportation provided.
There are also education programs that encourage learning new information and skills through staff and other agencies. Empowering Day Center also provides therapy activities and daily exercise.
Delta Care Hope Foundation also offers a variety of programs to youth, including its DCH Summer Enrichment Program, the Empowering Youth Basketball Camp and its Mentoring Program.
