A proposal to complete about 2,000 feet of work to improve Austin Road, a gravel street, failed for lack of a second during Monday’s Indianola Board of Aldermen meeting.
Alderman Gary Fratesi put the item on the agenda but was not present for the meeting, so Mayor Steve Rosenthal explained that he was presenting an updated quote of $55,322 on the project that had been introduced and discussed years ago. The aim was to slightly widen the street, add a solid surface and upgrade some of the drainage.
Alderman Ruben Woods made the motion but didn’t get a second from either Aldermen Larry Brown or Dana Myrick. Alderman Carver Randle Jr. was also absent.
