Two persons who had been on the run for nearly two weeks in connection with an incident at their home in the 400 block of Park Avenue are behind bars at the Sunflower County jail.
Rendell Williams 25, 407 Park Ave. and Tenesha Clark 24, same address, turned themselves in to police on Monday, according to Investigator Standrick Hodges.
Police responded to shots fired during an Indianola Academy playoff game on Nov. 3 and allegedly found Williams running down the street claiming someone was trying to rob him at his home. Clark arrived at the home shortly after police and alleged that based on the video surveillance from her cell phone, someone was holding her husband hostage.
Police entered the house and in the process of making sure no one else in the home was in danger, found an automatic weapon laying in plain sight, which prompted police to seek out a search warrant and that led to finding over $6,000 in cash and crack cocaine with an alleged street value of over $6,000.
Clark left the scene and never came back, after police handed her the search warrant and Williams left while he was in the care of the paramedics.
Williams has a prior felony conviction for burglary and Municipal Court Judge Kuykendall Murry set his total bond at $200,000.
Williams was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a felon and received $150,000 and $50,000 respectively for the charges.
Clark was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and issued a $50,000 bond.
Hodges said a preliminary hearing is tentatively set for Nov. 28.
