It will be a golden celebration indeed for the Gentry High School Class of 1968. The festivities will kick off next Wednesday and will run through the end of the week. On Wed., May 23rd there will be a Party in the Garden at the home of James and Karen Reed Blumenberg, 1104 Second Avenue, Indianola from 6 p.m. until ... (BYOB). Thursday brings a pre-reunion celebration in the form of Linda Smith Myles' Birthday and Retirement party at her home, 406 B.B. King Road, Indianola from 6 p.m. until.... Thursday is also Class Night for the GHS Class of 2018 (7 p.m.). Friday at 10 a.m. is the Graduation Rehearsal at GHS with a Meet & Greet (classmates only) immediately following at the Enoch and Gwendolyn Palmer Ailes' Estate located at 1305 B.B. King Road in Indianola. GHS Graduation Ceremonies begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be a Saturday Brunch beginning at 9 a.m. at the home of Ladell and Ozella Jackson, 98 Charlie Ellis Road, Indianola hosted by the Jacksons along with Sarah Holmes Scott and Verlee Jackson Ratliff. The reunion banquet will begin at 6 p.m. at Harlow's Convention Center Resort & Spa, 4280 Harlow's Blvd., Greenville. The theme is "Class of '68 Odyssey! Recall, Relive, Renew, Reflect...The Journey Continues." Banquet attire is formal and colors are gold, black and white. Sunday's church services will begin at 11 a.m. at First United Baptist Church, 718 Coolidge Street, Indianola, pastored by the Rev. Clifford Wilson. Dinner will be served at the church immediately following the services.
