Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) held its 2019 Academic, Career and Technical Graduation Ceremonies Friday, May 10, 2018 in the J.T. Hall Coliseum on the Moorhead campus. This year, 465 students graduated from MDCC this spring. Graduates from academic, career, and technical programs were awarded an Associate of Arts Degree (AA), and Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS), and/or a certificate from a one-year program.
Beverly Terrell provided music for the prelude and the processional. Mr. Derrick Fields, assistant to the vice president of student services, provided the invocation for the 10 a.m. ceremony and Dr. Peter Jackson, a member of the MDCC Board of Trustees, provided the invocation for the 1 p.m. ceremony with Dr. Ed Rice II, vice president of student services, welcoming and recognizing guests in attendance. MDCC President Dr. Larry Nabors also gave opening remarks with special music provided by student vocalist D’Angelo Luckett.
MDCC’s Health Science Graduation Ceremony was held Thursday, May 9, 2018 with an additional 76 graduates participating. Thursday’s ceremony included graduates from the Associate Degree Nursing Program, the Dental Hygiene Program, the Medical Laboratory Technology Program and the Radiologic Technology Program.
Mississippi Delta is a comprehensive community college, which offers a wide variety of academic, career and technical courses in day, evening and online classes. The college also offers workforce training, adult education courses and continuing education courses.
MDCC supports its students with a full range of student services including financial aid, counseling, and on-campus housing. MDCC instructors are well-trained professionals who are truly dedicated to the success of their students, both in the classroom and in their future careers.
In addition to the main campus in Moorhead, MDCC also offers classes at sites in Greenville and Greenwood as well as workforce training at the Charles W. Capps, Jr. Technology Center in Indianola.
