The city of Moorhead is in search of someone to handle the day-to-day operations that keep the town functioning. In a 3-1 vote on June 3, the city council unanimously voted to terminate the employment of Percell Moore as the municipality's city manager.
According to Vice-Mayor Derrell Wright, councilman for Ward 1, the city is now in the process of accepting applications for a replacement. “The majority of the board, which is three of us, we just chose to go in a different direction,” Wright said.
According to him, Robert Martin has been named as the interim manager until the applications are reviewed and a replacement can be named.
Moorhead operates under a council-manager form of government and the city is divided up into four ward with a representative from each area serving as a member of the council. The mayor only gets a vote in the event of a tie.
Wright said he could not offer any additional information regarding Moore's termination at this time.
Applications may be picked up and returned to the Moorhead City Hall.
