Indianola police have released the name of the suspect in the Jan. 27 armed-robbery of the Indianola Hampton Inn and are seeking the public’s help in locating Jerome Bell formerly of Indianola and now believed to be living in Greenville or Leland.
Lt. Johnny Bland said they received tips from the photos the police department shared on Facebook and someone came forth and positively identified Bell. He said they have reached out to Washington County law enforcement to assist since Bell’s last known address is either 312 Cornell Ave. or 431 McAllister Street in Greenville.
Bell is said to be 5 foot 7, 165 to 170 pounds and possibly around 30-years-old. He is suspected of holding up a desk clerk at gunpoint and taking around $800 during the daylight robbery.
Bell reportedly passed the attendant a note, pointed a gun at her and declared that he was not playing and he wanted all of the money.
He then reportedly left the establishment on foot, but witnesses said he possibly got out of a 2017 black Chevrolet Impala or Malibu. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black cap with red lettering and carrying what was described as a camouflage backpack.
Anyone knowing the exact whereabouts of Bell at this time is encouraged to call the Indianola police at 662-887-1811 or make the call to Crimestoppers for a possible reward.
