The Small World Summer Camp held open enrollment and recruitment for Girl Scouts during its Fun Day on Friday at Save the Children’s Cassie Pennington Head Start Center.
Working through the Roosevelt Community Association, Marilyn James and others are hoping to continue what’s been started with Scouting in the community and get more girls involved in the national organization. That’s in part because it promotes self-confidence and exposes them to new things.
Annie Roby, area recruiting specialist for the Girl Scouts from Cleveland, visited several sites to speak to parents and potential Scouts about the benefits of the organization.
The Indianola Promise Community and Save the Children Head Start partnered together during the summer to sponsor Small World to acclimate 3-year-olds to Head Start.
