Inverness Elementary School Principal Brenda Singleton and Secretary Elizabeth Steen accept the gifts and toys from Sunflower County Sheriff’s Department Payroll Clerk Brandi Howard and Deputy Felecia Jordan who traveled the length of the county distributing the donations for students who otherwise might not have a joyous Christmas.
Representatives from the Sunflower County Sheriff’s Department were filled with joy over the opportunity to spread some Christmas cheer this holiday season. They made some bighearted gifts to some county students who may not have had the benefit of presents and toys this year.
Collaborating with the principals of the Sunflower County Consolidated School District’s elementary schools, representatives from the sheriff’s office were able to pinpoint students from each school that were the most needy.
And through the department’s efforts and the generous donations from many area residents, smiles were brought to the faces of a lot of children in the county.
Their effort to spread love, hope and the Christmas spirit was well received by the school principals and vice-principals throughout the district.
Payroll Clerk Brandi Howard said she and Deputy Felecia Jordan enjoyed every single minute of their experience.
