Congratulations Girl Scouts Myiesha Smith and Jameshia Attaway. The girls are part of the Girl Scouts’ Heart of the South initiative, under the leadership of Shequite Johnson, leader of Troop 30123.
Smith and Attaway were nominated by their respective Girl Scout Service Unit to serve as members of Girl Scouts brand new Girl Resource Network, which is a group of high school-aged Girl Scouts nominated to serve for one year to work together with the Girl Scouts Heart of the South council. They will discuss various topics of interest to girls and give feedback regarding girl matters.
Throughout the membership year, girls will meet periodically via webinar or conference call to discuss things happening in their service units. They may be asked to conduct a survey amongst other Girl Scouts in the area, come up with questions or suggestions they want to see from the council, plus more.
The goal is to make every Girl Scout experience the best one possible. What better way to achieve that goal than with the help of Girls Scouts themselves? Utilizing their advice and input to make being a Girl Scout a wonderful experience. The nominees will also be featured in the Girl Scouts magazine.
