YOU ASKED: What resources are available for domestic violence victims in the Mississippi Delta?
Our House, Inc. has been one of the main organizations serving the Delta counties (e.g. Bolivar, Washington, Leflore, Sunflower, Holmes) with services including confidential shelters, transportation, legal advocacy, and outreach. Because the Mississippi Delta is predominantly rural, many people must travel further distances. That makes hotline access, mobile advocacy, and referral to local community partners especially crucial.
However and just recently, on October 5th, 2025, Our House, Inc announced its partnership with NoMoreDVorAbuse.org that originated in Central Alabama and expanded to the Mississippi Delta as the newest domestic violence awareness and prevention effort in the region in the following:
Our House, Inc. of Greenville, MS Announces Strategic Partnership with NoMoreDVorAbuse.org
Greenville, MS | October 5, 2025 — In a powerful and purpose-driven partnership, Our House, Inc., a long-standing advocate for victims of domestic violence in the Mississippi Delta, and the Mississippi branch of NoMoreDVorAbuse.org, founded in Birmingham, AL, have joined forces to expand their collective impact across Mississippi.
The collaboration is led by Dr. Patricia Davenport, Co-ounder and Executive Director of Our House, Inc., and the Founder of NoMoreDVorAbuse.org, Cheryl Featherstone, whose work has been widely recognized for creative and community-centered advocacy. Together, they are merging resources, talents, and missions to better serve victims and survivors of domestic violence through advocacy, education, outreach, and empowerment.
“Our partnership is rooted in the belief that together, we can do more,” said Featherstone. “By joining forces, we are strengthening our ability to provide critical support, raise awareness, and advocate for survivors across our communities.”
Under this new partnership:
NoMoreDVorAbuse.org will continue to serve as a speaker and advocacy resource, offering access to a growing network of expert panelists and presenters for domestic violence-focused conferences, panels, and community forums.
Our House, Inc. will continue its mission as a leading educational and training provider, offering professional development opportunities to help practitioners stay informed on evolving domestic violence statistics, trends, and trauma-informed care.
The popular No More Calendar of Domestic Violence Survivors, an annual project celebrating the resilience and stories of survivors, will now be administered by Our House, Inc., while the creative direction and public relations strategy for the project will remain the responsibility of NoMoreDVorAbuse.org.
This strategic alliance represents a unified front in the fight against domestic violence, with both organizations committed to ensuring that survivors are not only supported but also empowered to thrive.
