Allen Keith Holdeman was born May 4, 1941, at Axtell Hospital in Newton, Kansas.
He died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. His passing was the result of a massive stroke.
He lived and worked in the Delta since 1966, a land leveler for most of his years. He was a lover of people; he never met a stranger, only friends. Much of his life was spent with his horses, of which he had a special talent for training and riding. His love for his Lord was his stay and his love for his family his pride.
Survivors include Jane, his wife of 63 years; two sons, Wes and his wife Charis of Indianola and Phillip and his wife Tamma of Inverness; two daughters, Bessie of Oxford and Julie and her husband Kerry Ratzlaff of Macon; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five sisters; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and four brothers-in-law.
Visitation was held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Leland Mennonite Church.
The service was held at 10:30, Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Leland Mennonite Church. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was entrusted with arrangements.
