Anniebell K. Foster, 87, of Felton, Delaware, formerly of Drew, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 19, 2024,
Mrs. Foster was born in Cleveland, to Dot and Joseph "Lattie" Beach.
Mrs. Foster grew up in Mississippi, one of 11 children, and was raised on a cotton plantation where her parents helped farm it. After getting married, she moved to New Jersey where she raised her family. She worked in Bloomfield, N.J., at a canning facility where she ran machinery making aerosol cans and toothpaste tubes, working every shift there was. She did this until her mid-50s when she decided to go to school to become a Home Health Aide. She worked as an H.H.A. for Maxim Healthcare until she went out on her own and worked as an H.H.A. for mostly friends and people from her church.
Mrs. Foster loved to quilt. She made nine-patch block quilts for all her family's babies that were born. As her children were growing up she made some of their clothes and uniform tops. Her favorite activities included cross-stitching, arts and crafts, and watching the ME channel on TV. Her favorite shows included The Andy Griffith Show, and In the Heat of the Night, which was based in the area of Mississippi where she grew up. She also loved going to church and Sunday School and belonged to the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield, N.J. Mrs. Foster will be remembered for her loving and caring personality, who liked to joke around, and always put her family first. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her children, Christina Foster-Leon (fiancé, Tom), Betty Richardson, Bonnie Gechtberg, Rose Bendetto and Elizabeth Murphy; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
