Barbara Eugene “Bobbie” Smith Ledford, 89, passed away on Dec. 25, 2017, at Cleveland Nursing and Rehab.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland. Celebration of Life Services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Shaw Cemetery.
Barbara was born on Sept. 14, 1928, to Abner E. Smith and Margie Vina Smith. She married Cecil W. Ledford and resided in Merigold. Barbara loved cooking for everyone and she loved being in the yard working with her flowers. She spent most days sitting on the porch reading the Bible. She had such a big heart and helped many people.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil W. Ledford; two daughters, Barbara Sue Ledford and Linda Tidwell; one son, Bobby Dean Ledford Sr.; parents, Abner E. Smith and Margie Vina Smith; two brothers, Abner Lee Smith and A.D. Smith; and one sister, Thurma Dean Brown.
Barbara is survived by one daughter, Dixie Shurden (Nathan) of Merigold; one son, Cecil Stanley Ledford (Doris) of Merigold; one brother, Billy E. Smith (Lyneben) of Eupora; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shane Manzo, Hunter Akers, Will Johnston, Brandon Johnston, Nathan McDaniel, Bobby Ledford Jr., and Billy Smith Jr.
