Barbara Kaye Barnett Avila, 53, of Doddsville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville.
Barbara Kaye, affectionately known as Bobbie, was born Feb. 29, 1964, in Mound Bayou to William Paul “PeeWee” and Elsie Huskey Barnett. She worked as an oxygen checker for Tackett Farms in Itta Bena for ten years. Bobbie was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her job, Mississippi State, and arguing. Bobbie had to be right about everything; but she was the best friend that anyone could ask for.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Julian Avila.
Bobbie is survived by three children, Ricky Truelove Jr. of Doddsville, Ronnie Truelove and wife Courtnie of Morgan City, La., and Laura Ann Alvarez of Moorhead; four brothers, Jody Paul Barnett and wife Toni of Indianola, Billy Paul Barnett and wife Nancy of Pearl, David Paul Barnett and wife Sherry of Rome, and Rocky Lee Barnett and wife Bridgett of Blaine; three sisters, Julie Horne and husband Henry of Doddsville, Luronica Horne and husband Donald of Doddsville, and Rose Trent and husband Jake of West Plains, Mo.; and nine grandchildren, Dustin Truelove, Haley Truelove, Wyatt Truelove, Summer Truelove, Arianna Truelove, Kenzie Truelove, Brent Truelove, Khloe Alvarez, and Harley Alvarez.
The family received friends Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was in charge of arrangements.
