Betty Sue Jones Asbury, 80, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018.
A visitation was held Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home of Warner Robins.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Todd Shearin officiating. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Asbury, a proper southern belle from the Mississippi Delta, was born March 14, 1938 to the late Fred V. Jones Sr. and the late Julia Eakin Jones in Inverness. She was a teacher and served the education community in Houston County, Georgia as a substitute teacher.
Mrs. Asbury was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and was very active in her Sunday School class. Among her favorite things to do in life were painting in watercolor, spending time in her garden, birdwatching, shopping, and spending time with her friends and family. Mrs. Asbury was an excellent southern cook and loved to laugh at a good joke.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, William Lee Asbury, Sr.
Mrs. Asbury’s memory will forever be cherished by her family: a daughter, Julie Asbury of Warner Robins; a son, Lee Asbury Jr. of Warner Robins; two brothers, Fred V. Jones Jr. and Nicky Jones of Mississippi; several nieces and nephews; special caretaker, Laneta; and honorary grandbabies, Kamryn and Kealeigh Fielder, and Presley Singleton.
