Bobby Adron Crawford, 88, of Indianola, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at South Sunflower County Hospital.
He was born December 31, 1935, in Mathiston, to Upton and Cleo Crawford. Bobby worked in automotive parts sales for many years and also worked at Lee Pharmacy, and Turner’s Pawn Shop. He loved people and enjoyed laughing and joking with his customers. Bobby loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved clothes and enjoyed getting dressed up, his family always made sure he had the best clothes. He loved horses and was very active with 4H. Bobby served as President of The Mississippi State 4H Horse Show and The MS State Championship Horse Show for years. While serving, Bobby started the Riffey Parker Memorial Western Pleasure 12-13 class at The Mississippi State 4H Championship Show that has been running for 23 years. Each year, the winner is presented a sterling silver belt buckle in memory of his beloved grandson, Riffey. Bobby was a longtime deacon of Second Baptist Church prior to joining Eastwood Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Bobby Adron “Bob” Crawford, Jr., Eric Van Crawford; and grandson, Riffey Parker.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Barbara Anthony Crawford; two daughters, Teresa Manning (William Harold) and Sheila Parker (John Riffey); nine grandchildren, Farrell Dowling (Wesley), Carrie Janous (Jay), Will Manning (Ginny), Kimberly Rouse (Kevin), Krislee Chouccoli (Travis), Kasandra Brownlee (Clay), Annie Miller (Matthew), Sydney Grisham (Stephen), and Catherine Crawford; and twenty two great grandchildren.
Graveside services was held Monday, December 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at Indianola City Cemetery in Indianola. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
