Bonnie Tyler French Crosby, 99, of Indianola, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2018 at her home.
She was born Oct. 29, 1919 in Water Valley to Rufus and Elizabeth McCormick Tyler. Ms. Crosby earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Mississippi. She worked as a Deputy Chancery Clerk in Sunflower County for over 30 years prior to her retirement. Ms. Crosby loved reading, traveling with her husband and gardening. While her health permitted, she was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church in Indianola, and in numerous community clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her spouses, Malcolm French and Ira Crosby; daughter, Lillian Turner; two brothers, Stanley Tyler and Ray Tyler; and one sister, Martha Edwards.
Mrs. Crosby is survived by five children, George French and his wife Angie of Indianola, Malcolm French and his wife Judy of Wichita, Kansas, Talmadge Crosby Jr. of Johnson City, Tenn., Bill Crosby and his wife Marilyn of Memphis, and Kathryn Lancaster and her husband Johnny of Indianola; son-in-law, O.J. Turner of Oxford; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 28, at 1:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Indianola.
Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
