Cynthia Knight Bogdahn passed away at the age of 91on Wednesday Jan. 23, 2019 surrounded by her family.
Cynthia was born in Inverness to Roy and Dora Knight on June 21, 1927. When she was 9, her mother died and her father later married Mrs. Bertie Matthews Knight, who fulfilled the role of mother in Cynthia’s life. She graduated from Inverness High School and furthered her education at Belhaven College earning a degree in Music. Mrs. Bogdahn taught piano for over 50 years in the Pascagoula area, ensuring her passion for music would live on for generations to come. She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood and past state president. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pascagoula where she was the church pianist for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Jack Bogdahn; a brother, Richard “Dick” Knight; her sister, Dorothy Allen; and son-in-law, Daniel Woods.
She is survived by three daughters, Suellen Lynn (John) of Moss Point, Irene Woods of Moss Point and Jackie Tilka (Dan) of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two sons Joseph Bogdahn (Heather) of Winter Haven, Fla. and William “Billy” Bogdahn of Pascagoula; one brother, Bob Knight of Greenwood; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 2 great- great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Sunday Jan. 27, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 pm at First United Methodist Church of Pascagoula with funeral service following at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Eddie Kirby officiating.
Interment followed at Jackson County Memorial Park on Monday at 11 am.
