Donald Gene Oswalt, 70, of Indianola, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson.
He was born November 11, 1946 in Moorhead to Hal Quinton Oswalt and Vera Phillips Oswalt. Donald was a graduate of Moorhead High School, where he played on the football team. He married Inez Butts Oswalt, and together they made their home in Indianola. Donald was very kind hearted and would do anything for anyone. He loved fishing and telling a tall tale or two among his friends. Donald was a member of Moorhead Baptist Church. He worked for Roy Collins Construction until illness forced his retirement.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Inez Butts Oswalt; and one brother, Steve Oswalt.
He is survived by two sons, Quinton Oswalt and Jason Oswalt, both of Indianola; two sisters, Diane Lofton and husband Bobby of Scobey and Jackie Aderholt and husband Bubba of Buford, Georgia; and one granddaughter, Anna Laura Oswalt.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, October 25 at 1 p.m. at Moorhead Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
