Elizabeth Ann Giardina Crawford, 93, of Indianola, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at Indywood Personal Care Home in Indianola.
She was born Nov. 23, 1929, in Leland, to Vince and Lucy Carollo Giardina. Elizabeth was raised in Leland and graduated from Leland High School and then attended Mississippi State College for Women. She married Carl Crawford in 1947 and they made their home in Indianola. Elizabeth and Carl owned and operated Crawford Construction Company and she was the bookkeeper. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church in Leland and later Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Indianola. Elizabeth was a member of the National Cutting Horse Association and the Greenville Yacht Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Crawford; five sisters, Sara Parker, Annette Wells, Mary Lee Ferracci, Rosa Lee Tompkins and Elaine Dawkins; and two brothers, Tony Giardina and Frank Giardina.
Elizabeth is survived by one daughter, Carlene Crawford Stratton (John) of Indianola; two grandchildren, John Stratton II (Owen) of Ridgeland and Charisse Stratton Oberle (Danny) of Leland; and two great-grandchildren, Malon Stratton and Reeves Stratton of Ridgeland.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Indianola. Burial followed at Indianola City Cemetery.
Burton Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
