Services for Essie Buckner of Indianola will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Ms. Buckner, 88, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, with a family hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Byas Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Mark Buckner will officiate at the services.
She leaves to cherish her memories six daughters, Helen Jean (Silvanus) Johnson of Brandon, Bernice Buckner, Joeirma Smith and Nioka Kirklon, all of Indianola, Lyvonne (Joseph) Brady of Meridian and Prophetess Sharon (Daniel) Patrick of Columbus; two sons, James Buckner Sr. of Ft. Worth, Texas and the Rev. Mark S. Buckner of Cleveland; one daughter-in-law, Helen M. Buckner of Indianola; one sister, Josie Mae Brown of Tampa Fla.; one sister-in-law, Toni Travis of Detroit; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
