Services for Henry R. Arnold of Madison, Ala. were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Huntsville, Ala. Interment followed at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Arnold, 93, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Shaw and was a former resident of Indianola. He served in the Pacific during WWII on the USS New Orleans. He later continued his military career in the U.S. Army for a combined total of 28+ years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Gladys O. Arnold (2003).
Mr. Arnold is survived by two daughters, Vivian (Butch) Wright and Debbie (Mike) McCleary; three grandsons, Rhett (Melanie) Bass, Col. Curtis Bass (USAF) and Brett (Malarie) McCleary; one step-grandson, Rev. Scott (Denise) Wright; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
