Services for Herman Archie Waid Jr. of Belzoni were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10 at Eastside Baptist Church in Belzoni.
Mr. Waid, 64, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. until the service time at the church.
Burial was in Belzoni City Cemetery, under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home of Belzoni, which was in charge of arrangements.
Archie was an avid fisherman, scuba diver and enjoyed his time in the Ozard Mountains. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the City of Sarasota, Fla. for many years.
Mr. Waid was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Archie Waid Sr. and Lois Jane Broadway Waid and is survived by his sister, Beverley (Dale) Hale of Indianola; his brother, Tim (Kim) Waid of Canton; and a nephew, Waid Durr of Mancos, Colo.
